Nicolo Bulega's MotoGP Debut: A Mixed Bag of Emotions (2026)

Nicolo Bulega's MotoGP debut failed to diminish his disappointment over losing the World Superbike title. The Italian rider, who finished second in the World Superbike Championship in October, was called up by Ducati to replace the injured Marc Marquez for the final two MotoGP rounds of the year. Despite scoring points in both events, Bulega admitted that his debut didn't make him forget his championship loss. He said, "The disappointment of missing out on the world title remains with me, because MotoGP didn’t make me forget the championship." Bulega is now looking forward to the 2026 World Superbike Championship, where he is the overwhelming favorite to win the title. However, he is wary of his rivals, including Iker Lecuona, Danilo Petrucci, and Miguel Oliveira, who are expected to challenge him. Bulega is also set to test the 2027 Ducati MotoGP bike in the summer of next year, which could lead to a race seat with Ducati in 2027. This is a significant moment in his career, but he remains focused on his goal of winning the World Superbike title in 2026.
